PROJECTS

The Cherry Groce Foundation was established in 2014 as a tribute to Cherry Groce, who radiated positive energy and chose to live life to the fullest despite her circumstances.

It's that spirit we work to honour by supporting members of the BME community with a physical or mental impairment/disability - often facing challenging circumstances - live full lives.

The foundation has delivered various projects which include the following:

  • 2018 April - See Life: London Aquarium - The Foundation invited individual members from different groups and backgrounds, to attend a day trip to socialise together.

  • 2018 June - Midsummer Fair, Myatts Park – A fun day activity in collaboration with Vinyl Memories hosted by Empower Fitness.

  • 2018 August - Brighton seaside - Encouraged our members who were studying or recently graduated to celebrate their achievements by having a day out at the seaside.

  • 2018 October - Fundraiser at Musiq Soulchild concert presented by Just About Music at The O2 indigo

  • 2020 September – December  - Award 4 All Covid response – Cherry’s Helping Hand project delivered by volunteers to provide Telephone coach, Emotional / Bereavement Support and weekly online live sessions where individuals could join in the conversation.

The charity is aware of the rise in discrimination and hate crime acts, and the effects this may have on those who are more vulnerable.  In an effort to assist existing and future participants of our projects, the charity remains committed to address and deal with all form of discrimination.
